Vedette has been one of the greatest and long lasting (active until 1986) italian labels, run by maestro Armando Sciascia since 1962. Home of the famous Azoto releases, has incredible overlooked gems in its catalog, like this one from 1977. Miro is the moniker used here for an obscure release by italian musician Mario Baldoni and produced by Allan Goldberg, of Slang fame…..possibly the rarest Baldoni/Goldberg release along with the LP with this track, and being 1977 a cult year for Disco – too – won’t help lowering the price tag…..one sure thing: this track is a bomba!
The aural equivalent of soft melted cheese, or something referencing say an idealized airport lounge with a dance floor?

He is the artist behind the upcoming Ringo comic I dedicated a mix to a while back.
In the picture: Colette Justine who sung Beautiful Dreamer originally during a performance art show in a window of a department store. This was in Vienna in 1979.
What did the dreamer see? There was Hot Volcano, Sahara doing I Just Wanna Dance, Event Horizon, bits and pieces, some Leroy Vohn plus Albinoni’s Adagio as arranged by Jean Musy.

Koos János – Tarzán (1983)
Brazilian take on The Duke Of Burlington classic from Super Erotica’s first lp (1970).
Private press release from Italy on a very tiny label, and that is already starting to gain some attention, so it’s time to reveal it. These “discoteque-connected” records – normally pretty rare – used to be the norm once and they were useful as promotional stunts. This was the soundtrack of the China Club in Modena.
The production is very cheap, but nevertheless, and this is the case, tunes like these are absolutely captivating………
Two sides from Max Berlins, made in France in 1978. Some sources insist Max is Jean Marc Cerrone’s brother but nobody has been able to offer any concrete evidence.
A Titanic-style 1979 realese from the guys behind the Funky Axe & Big Noise From Winnetka 7″ of 1974.
The New Ventures – Superstar Revue
A fave from the New York disco underground: dark cavernous clubs, quaaludes, the hustle, fashions infuenced by 40′s glamour and rough sex in the back rooms. This was also the hayday of Andy Warhol’s Interview and After Dark, early lifestyle magazines that regularily reported on the scene.
Back In Time – All I Wanna Love Is Love
A dj Aicha classic with her trademark sound: furious pace and percussion, drama vocals and sensual, mysterioso strings.

Oriental flavoured morning music on F1 Team label (Italy, 1980). Can also be enjoyed at the after parties on remote beaches from your portable space age turntable, if you just dare to drop the needle on your cherished vinyl.
Leroy Vohn & Money – I Met A Girl
Italy 1978. This is a taste of the 15 minute plus album version which is a sonic playpen filled with turquoise shag carpeting, lava lamps and a curvy aquatic pool.
