Disco Tic

An alternative version of Lazer - Windsurfing (see here) and this time sung in Italian. In fact, this rendition appears to be the original version - or draft.

Nothing really outstanding about this specific song, and, as a matter of fact, the voice almost ruins the great instrumental.

Stefania Rotolo,
trying to convince us to forgive her about this horrible singing.

Stefania Rotolo - Disco Tic (1979)

Stick with the newer edition, unless maybe you’re some kind of an Italian Disco fetishist yourself.

If I had this record I would rub it all over my body, I’m a dierhard Italian disco fetishist. Mmmmm! Must order me a copy immediately. Of course signorina Rotolo’s singing is atrocious but that’s part of the perverse charm of this kind of stuff. Give me more!

This is the main theme (opening song) of an old Italian Disco show called Tilt.

I love it too, but sometimes I really question my tastes in “music” ;) glad to know I’m not alone liking those would-be singers who can’t sing.

I’m all for trashy Italian starlets who hostessed tv shows wearing skimpy outfits and tons of makeup, got parts in b-movies (appearing naked) and recorded cheap disco tunes. Nadia Cassini: Encounters, Heather Parisi: Disco Bambina, Rosa Fumetto: Crazy Chat, stuff like that. Even Marisa Mell of Diabolik fame did a disco song, Lady O, about how much she loves getting whipped and treated like a dog. But hey, it was Pablo Picasso himself who said good taste is the main enemy of creativity!

there is some perverse pleasure in getting these obscure gems, i know, I feel part of this too :-)

many italian starlets have done terrifying attempts to break into music….soon will post some atrocious evidences of these (they hoped) forgotten glories………
