Carl Barok - Blue Nights In Granada
1977. The singer oozes with sleaze, sounding something like inspector Torrente, the greatest heroic figure Spanish cinema has so far produced.
Crazy Colours Orchestra - Babe
Italy, the seventies. The one woman epitomizing Babe-ness in that country during the era was Gloria Guida. The stunningly beautiful actress starred in cheesy soft core comedies like “L’Infirmiera Di Notte” (Night Nurse), as well as in gritty dramas like Fernando Di Leo’s shocking “Avere Vent’Anni/To Be Twenty”, both in 1978 and both available on dvd. Gloria also belts out a disco tune called “Musica E” during the grand dance competition finale of the former film. Was there ever a soundtrack album?
Heather Parisi - Disco Bambina (1980 remix)
The signature tune of a legendary showgirl on Italian television.
Bibi Andersen - Call Me Lady Champagne
Two cult nightclub cuts by iconic figures dating back to the Movida art movement of the post-Franco era Madrid of the early 80’s, actress/transgender diva Bibi Andersen aka Bibiana Fernandez, and film director Pedro Almodovar.
