Cheap SID-like arpeggios do always sound great to me. Does anyone know which chip was used?

They’re all clustered together on this post because they’re obviously made using the same recipe. Most of the production team is the same.
Karen Diggs - Infatuation (1982) - and no, this is not an alternative version of Plastic Doll.
Barbara Norris - Strategy (1983)
Karen Diggs - Congratulations (1983)
The last one is my favourite from the lot, and unquestionably the most well known - what a catchy hook, everything’s in the name:

No arpeggio from outer space this time, nor any minimalist lyrics sung with a thick Italian accent and quickly laid on a cheap Casio beat… it’s just something “funky”, and kitsch. The forced falsetto voice and the “wow wow” in the talk box are priceless.
Eddy Rosemond - Wake Up And Move “Funky” (1979)
It’s just been added to the radio database today, along with two rare and mysterious killer tracks, one sung in Italian and the other one in French.

K.I.D. - I Wanna Piece Of The Action (1982)
Behind K.I.D. hides Geoff Bastow, an impressively good library musician, who also produced a few movie soundtracks at one time too. G.Bastow is actually renowned for having participated in a bunch of successful records, such as Amanda Lear’s and Munich Machine’s (mind the vocoder work and the syncopated bassline in the track in preview). He also had his own personal share of fame though, notably with the first K.I.D.’s LP: Don’t Stop.

Stupid trivia: the counting voice one can hear in the song actually indicates the pattern index (bar number) from the music score sequence. |

50 minutes of mostly vintage soundtracks, featuring superheroes, prison camps, sexual safaris, space pirates, pimps and hustlers, zombies, psychokinetic girls… and the Jacksons are here too.

This one appears to be the original version then remade one year later by Stacey Q.
Thank you kundalini. |
Sue Gatlin - Two of Hearts (1985)
See here for a preview of the cover version.
1gnition - Secret Sunday Lover (Greg Wilson Edit)
This one’s a classic hit single but the different mixes are soOo efficient to me that I can’t resist to share the groove!
1st release in 2007 produced by Ignition a UK based band formed by Ali Love & Marcus J Knight with Eon including Greg Wilson’s epic mix.
Ali Love - Secret Sunday Lover
2nd version appears on Ali Love’s album and single in a dirty style and another juicy mix by Sébastien Léger turning to acid.
