A Dog in the Night/Voyage

Mr. Master - A Dog In The Night (Instrumental) (1983)
Kris Menace - Voyage (2009)
An “edit” that actually cloaks its origins: it’s not fair Mr. Menace.

Every thirty or twentysomething will easily remember this old anime, named differently according to the country that broadcast the show (e.g. Captain Future, Capitan Futuro or Capitaine Flam). |
It is worth noting that every European country had its own version of the OST. While, in France for example, Jean-Jacques Debout (see previous post) recorded it, Christian Bruhn released his own version for the German market, in 1980.
Christian Bruhn - Gefahr
Christian Bruhn - Vor dem Start
Christian Bruhn - Durch den Weltraum nach Hause
This OST spawned countless remixes and cover versions. Some are o.k., others are really bad.
The original:
Christian Bruhn - Feinde greifen an
The remake:
Phil Fuldner - The Final (Chronovisor Mix) (1998)
The original:
Christian Bruhn - Space - Wind
The remake:
Wildchild - All Together (1996) - I should still have my Mokum T-shirt somewhere, cleanly packed…
Rondò Veneziano - La Serenissima (1982)
It must be the most popular hit by this chamber orchestra led by the composer Giampiero Reverberi. Certainly not a masterpiece but the melody is very nice… and the following recent “covers” are even more entertaining IMHO:
The Bloody Beetroots - We Are From Venice (2007)
The “in da hype” masked Italians from Bloody transform it into a distorted anthem. While Riton as a side-project keeps it slow and hypnotic adding repetitive vocals.
Morten Sorensen - Start Something (2008)
It’s a new beginning. Back in the time with Morten Sorensen a Norvegian producer and a NY disco lover who released his first EP “Start Something” for the label Tirk.
This tune sampled a song by the popular band Chic that appears on the “Tongue In Chic” LP:
Chic - I Feel Your Love Comin’ On (1982)

Hot Blood - Soul Dracula (1975)

This is a short psyche video clip on french TV.
(see the real video clip here)
Hot Blood’s classic was released in 1975 and later on the “Disco Dracula” or “Dracula And Co” LPs.
Here’s a longer remix from 1984 by Julius T & Hens Z:
Hot Blood - Soul Dracula (Subway Invader Part 6)
This big hit has even been covered by an Italian DJ/producer (more…)
Gwen McCrae - All This Love That I’m Giving
Gwen Mc Crae is an american singer inspired as much by gospel, R’n'B, soul as funk and also by her husband.
It appears on her 3rd album “Melody Of Life” in 1979.

Alien - Video Games (1981)
Pan Position - Elephant Paw (Batucada Mix) (1993)
